The spirit of a time is an incredibly subtle, yet hugely powerful force. And it is comprised of the mentality and spirit of all individuals together. Therefore, the way you look at things is not simply a private matter. Your outlook actually and concretely affects what goes on. When you give in to helplessness, you collude with despair and add to it. When you take back your power and choose to see the possibilities for healing and transformation, your creativity awakens and flows to become an active force of renewal and encouragement in the world. In this way, even in your own hidden life, you can become a powerful agent of transformation in a broken, darkened world. There is a huge force field that opens when intention focuses and directs itself toward transformation.

This looks to be a great week-long series of online events with lively conversation, well-being tips and the opportunity to hear from mental health experts and special guests, including a recorded dialogue with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

The chaos of our times is nearly too much to process. At times like these, when I feel my experience could overwhelm me, I turn to my visual journal. Just laying down one piece that captures an element of my experience helps me to process it, rather than continue to hold it in my body.
This free list of "60 Visual Journal Prompts" will inspire you to get back into your journal or even begin one. Just click below to get started.

With all the change we're experiencing this year, it's easy to start closing our hearts and disconnecting. Keeping our hearts open, especially when we're in a time of ambiguity is not easy, but it can be learned. Read more at my newest blog.

Coming this Fall, I'll be hosting a Live Online Workshop. Here you can learn the tools to begin a visual journaling practice while experiencing deeper self-awareness, rest from the world of stress and chaos, and expanding your creativity.

We'll meet for 2.5 hours a day for three days. I'll be live the entire time, just like if we were in a classroom setting.

It is no wonder why some people are confused about how to respond to the virus given the mixed messages and discrediting commentary coming from the White House and this administration.

You have to decide who your reliable and trusted sources of information are, notice who is also following those sources and the kinds of results they’re achieving.

For me, I am following the CDC, the WHO, and Dr. Fauci for the evolving science. There are others I trust but these are core.

Behaviors in countries/states where they are following this advice and numbers are going down that I follow: New Zealand (who are now at zero cases), Canada, and New York.

My home state of Delaware has been consistently responsive to the numbers. We started to see rising numbers after Memorial Day and they immediately began pulling back on opening. Our numbers are going back down again.

What we know about this virus continues to evolve but the precautions have never changed: wear a mask, social distance, wash your hands and sanitize public spaces.
